Question regarding canceling just my internet and keeping TV + home security

Hi,

Have some questions about making changes to my service. I currently have internet, phone, TV, and home security bundled in one package. I am looking to cancel the internet and phone but keep the TV and home security services. My primary concern is determining if my TV or home security services will have issues or simply not work if I terminate the internet service.

  • Can I cancel my internet and retain a functioning Xfinity home security system or does it require an Xfinity gateway to operate? (main concern)

  • Can I cancel my internet and retain a functioning Xfinity TV service?
    • If yes, will getting rid of the Xfinity gateway require any other device to operate or does it simply run off the primary primary cable box?
      • Note: All of my cable boxes are hardwired via coax (non-wireless boxes)
    • Any impact to my DVR service?

Current devices:

  • Internet
    • XB7 Gateway
  • TV
    • 1x X1 DVR box (ARRIS XG1v4)
    • 4x X1 non-DVR boxes
  • Home Security
    • 1x Touchscreen Controller
    • 1x Wireless keypad
    • 9x door/window sensors
    • 1x motion sensor

Hello @ericcc2121 and thank you for your post. We are happy to help answer your questions.

"Can I cancel my internet and retain a functioning Xfinity home security system or does it require an Xfinity gateway to operate? (main concern)" Yes you can cancel your internet from us but for your Xfinity Home Security to work it will still require you to have an internet service that provides at least a minimum broadband speed of 750 Kbps (.75 Mbps) upload/download. Here is a link for more information about Xfinity Home Security

"Can I cancel my internet and retain a functioning Xfinity TV service?" You can still have Xfinity TV service but it will not be X1 service as the X1 service requires our internet. Here is a link that talks more about our X1
