Promotion, eBay gift card, Visa card
I looked and found the scenario for this scam already posted on this site. I was contacted like 4 times by a person offering a rate reduction of approximately 50% for 2 years in exchange for prepaying 4 months with eBay gift card(s), calling an Xfinity promotion department phone number and I would also get a $150 prepaid Visa card in the mail IF I got the cards and called in tonight. I tried in vain to get an Xfinity person on the phone to ask about this and verify but, as you no doubt expect, I was unable to get connected with an actual person. Thank God I had the sense to go on line and find more than one post about the scam already.
The thing that was disconcerting was the amount of my information they had when I started asking questions. These black hearted sons of motherless goats are good, and they are taking advantage of Comcast/Xfinity's notoriously poor customer service.

I got the same call today. Yes it sounded too good to be true so it is a good thing I found your post and confirmed my suspicions. Thanks

And they are still at it. Was suspicious when they couldn't say which services I had.
They are slick. You buy the debit card, pay up front to a "billing agent" at a bogus 1-888# for the "billing switch," and they pocket the cash.
XFINITY should go after these scammers that are dragging them even further down.

I also just received a call from this group. I will be passing along the information that this is a scam to all of my friends and neighbors. It is one of the most well organized scams I have faced so far and I get a million of them. I got suspicious as soon as they started talking about using eBay gift cards to pay the bill and that I could not use any other form of payment. No legitimate organization would set up a deal like this. Clearly not something as large as these two organizations. They insisted that I would need to call the Comcast/Xfinity Billing-Activation phone number that they supplied and not to go through the main phone system in order to avoid the automated switchboard and the potential of lengthy call wait times. I told the guy I was willing to wait to make sure they got things right. He said that someone on the phone line he provided would be able to validate that this was a legitimate program. Yeah right!!! Anyway, as soon as I did a quick search, nothing but SCAM showed up in every search result. Thanks for your post!

I just got the same call. Terrible as it was too good to be true and then when pressuring them, they eventually hung up. Xfinity should send alerts out to their customers about these scams. Also, how did this scammer know so much about me and my Xfinity account?

[Edited: "Language"], they got me for $200. I stopped before I gave them any other gift card numbers. I just had an overall gut reaction then I read the warning on the ebay gc.
My question is how did they have access to my entire Xfinity account. They knew I had 3 DVR, what plan I am on and my total bill. I do not receive a hard bill so they had to get into the system.

I received the same suspicious call and offer. I called Comcast directly and gave them the bogus promotional code that was provided to me by the caller. No such promotion exists, and I was told that Comcast never would require a customer to buy a prepaid gift card prior to getting a promotion. It is disturbing that the caller already knew much of my information i.e. name, address and Comcast services to which I subscribe.
