Potential scam

I got a phone call from [Edited: "Personal Information"] purporting to be Xfinity and saying that for $10 a month I could upgrade to unlimited data. Since my plan already has this it seems like this is a fraudulent call, so I hung up.

Any time you have been contacted by someone claiming to be from Comcast and you believe it to be a scam, we welcome you to report it to the FTC. You will need the name and number of the caller and the date and time of the call.

  • Visit ftc.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP.
  • The complaint that you report will be submitted into the Consumer Sentinel Network, which is a database that is used by law enforcement agencies across the world. It helps them to track down the culprits and eventually stop the fraud.

You may also file a complaint with the FCC at fcc.gov/complaints.

You can also go to the Internet security alerts site for news, updates, Comcast security alerts and top phishing scams.
