Potential Scam call

Got a call from a number that came up on caller ID(Verizon). Said that there was a service interruption on their end and wanted me to log on to my computer and check stuff. I immediately thought it was suspicious. Told mom to get our accout number and a recent bill. Mom asked the person for our account number and he said they can't give that out over the phone and said it was emailed to our email. Immediately hung up. Be aware of this scam.

The equipment used by robo scanners can enter a fake ID name and phone number to defeat number blocking on phones. Any legit company already has your account information and will not ask for personal information.
