Overhead Service Line Removal

Not sure where else to get help for this, so trying here.

I called in last week to cancel service and also requested the overhead service line running to my house be removed since it isn't needed. I was routed over from retentions to tech support and while they seemed confused and surprised by the request, they did say they connected with another department and that a tech would be out the next day (4/20). They said I'd get a call within 72 hours as well to confirm removal, but neither of those things came to pass.

How do I go about getting this removed?

Hi there, @robd800588

Generally line repairs and other outdoor work is queued with other jobs in the area of similar nature, so there is not a set-in-stone time and date (the dates are usually more of a placeholder), due to outside working being unpredictable and often taking longer or shorter than expected, and since we do not require anyone to be home during outside work orders. So the date provided is fluid (things like rain, excessive heat, or needing specialized equipment are usually the culprits of any delays), and may be completed sooner or later than the date.

We can definitely check on this and make sure all is in order, and also follow up until this it's done, if you'd like :)

If so, please send us a direct message, using the following instructions:

(Full credit to @BruceW for this excellent explanation and @Again for the picture!)

"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon:

or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send it

@XfinityGina that makes a lot of sense! This isn't an emergency by any means either, just want to be sure this wasn't lost. I'll follow those instructions to send in a direct message.
