Outlook can not verify STMP cirt

I am replacing my wife’s PC with a new windows 11pro PC with a local logon. I loaded Microsoft office/outlook from my Microsoft account. Set it up for her existing email account. Pop/Smtp. Works sending and receiving email with one small exception. Each time I open outlook and attempt to send email I get the following popup.
“Internet Security Warning. The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified. Target principal name is incorrect. SMTP.Comcast.Net  Do you want to continue using server.” I check yes and it works until the next time I start Outlook, and I must do it again.

Hey there Stan7777 this error occurs when Microsoft perceives that the server name doesn't match. This is not a critical error, but it will likely keep appearing. As long as your server settings reflect the following you are A-OK.

- Incoming Mail Server Name: imap.comcast.net

- Incoming Mail Server Port Number: 993 with SSL ON

-If the Mail Client lets you select an authentication method, choose STARTTLS.

-If Needed: 143 with SSL ON

-Outgoing Mail Server Name: smtp.comcast.net

-Outgoing Mail Server Port Number: 587 (SMTP)

-If Needed: 465 (SMTPS)

-Encryption: TLS (use SSL if TLS isn't shown.)

-Authentication: Type in your Comcast.net email address

Yes, this works with no error, but I want a pop account with PSTs. I have other comcast pop accounts that work. Wifes current and my pc win 10 PC work with pop settings, but new win 11 pro has error describe above.

@Stan7777 Are you using Port 995 for the Incoming Mail Server? Also, are you using SSL encryption? These are our recommended settings for POP.

Yes, to both. I have tried several recommended settings. Setting work on my other WIN 10 PCs. It works great after I except using the unverified certification. In general, does your pop server work with outlook on windows 11 pro. I have tied turning virus protection (defender) off and that does not help. I do not want my fife to have to do this every time she starts outlook.

@Stan777 Can you tell me what version of Outlook you are running on the new PC?

I have the exact same problem with a new Windows 11 PC.   I have Office 365, and I'm using Outlook Classic because I heavily depend on pst files.   The default Outlook installation was "New Outlook" which doesn't support psts, but I was able to do a new installation of Outlook Classic from the Microsoft site.   I'm using POP3  with mail.comcast.net port 995 with SSL as the incoming server and SMTP.comcast.net port 465 with SSL as the outgoing server.  The warning doesn't say which is the problem, but it says the certificate was issued to imap.email.comcast.net.   I have the same mail setup on three Windows 10 PCs that have had Outlook 365 installed on them for a while, and they don't have the problem so far.
