Orange cable across my driveway and yard
An Xfinity tech has connected an orange cable from a box on my lot to a box at one of the neighbors (this was not a service call by us so I have no idea what it is for.) The cable has been laying across our yard and driveway for months now. When do you plan to remove the cable?

Hello @user_53v3vy and thank you for posting your concern on our Xfinity Community forums.
'Orange' cables are typically used as temporary lines, their color is brighter than normal coax lines so that they can be seen easier since they lay above ground. In most cases when a temp line is used it is because the line actually needs to be run underground.
When installations are completed in this way, they are usually followed up with a special team that runs the lines using special drop-bore equipment that will replace the temp cable, then a technician will move the circuit over to the underground line and remove the temp cable.
In some areas there are permits needed or moratoriums in place that prevent this from happening immediately after (usually due to ground conditions or to avoid damaging other underground installations by ensuring they are clearly marked.)
If you would like for us to look into this further, please send us a direct message* with your full name and service address. We'll be able to take a look at what's going on and determine when this will be addressed and how quickly.
