No Show Three Times to Date Drop Bury Request Ignored Forgotten Cable Above Ground Since June 22

On June 22 Xfinity performed a service request at a house several houses away from ours, but had to hook the orange cable cord to the pedestal at our property, looping over our property and extending along our street towards the next pedestal, several houses away.  The person who performed that request on June failed to close the pedestal and left everything inside the pedestal exposed to the elements.  The neighbors with the original service request called Xfinity because they were concerned the cable cord was not being buried or bored as was required.  They were assured someone was coming on August 21 to take care of the cable cord and do the boring.  Xfinity assured them someone was coming.  No one ever came.  They called again and were assured that someone was coming August 28. No one showed.  We were assured once again - on a recorded phone call with Xfinity - that someone was coming September 4.  No one ever showed up. No-show 3 times despite assurance from Xfinity that DEFINITELY someone was coming as promised on those three dates.  We filed a complaint with the FCC and we got a phone call the same day from an employee who said he would get with another employee and get on it.  He said he would get back to us but we never heard back from him.  We assume they are required by the FCC to contact the customer but what good does it do to telephone us, if nothing happens as a result?  So they can tell the FCC we contacted the customer?  We were also told oh, they have to get permits, well permits are electronic these days and we assume  or would certainly hope they have an entire department at Xfinity whose responsibility it is to pull permits, we are well acquainted with the process of pulling permits as well as getting utilities marked, it must be routine for Xfinity and not brand new procedures they are trying to master. We tried calling the PSC but they only regulate limited parts of Xfinity.  I contacted the City Attorney in our area and he said he would get a utility specialist to "coordinate" this and while I sincerely appreciate his efforts, so far that has only resulted in someone from Xfinity securing the cord to the ground - but it is still above ground and annoying and preventing us from moving ahead with a home improvement project due to the area it is lying on our property.  We are tired of the No-Shows - three times to date.  The cord has been above ground since June 22 and we won't understand why Xfinity keeps assuring us they will show up on a certain date but have failed to do so on three separate dates.

user_kyt5i7 Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback about what has taken place. Generally, when an FCC complaint is filed, that team will reach out, as you mentioned, and conduct a review of the situation.

When it comes to drop-bury requests, the process can take some time as permits, utility locates, and other requirements often need to be completed first. Trust me, we wish permit approvals were always a quick and simple process as well.

That said, if this has been ongoing since June, it sounds like there may be something else contributing to the delay. When did you file the FCC complaint, and when was your first contact with the assigned caseworker?
