next gen speed configuration - CM3000 and RAX70

Hi,

Next Gen Speed Tier is available in my area and I got a modem off this list that works for that.

I had an xfinity tech visit and he can pull 1800MB download and ~400MB upload directly off of the coax cable.

However, I max out at 900 down / 300 up. I have the most expensive xfinity plan (e.g. theoretically 2gig down).

When I log into my modem (Nighthawk CM3000) this is what I see:

When I log into router (Nighthawk Tri-Ban AX8 RAX70) this is what I see:

I tried changing the settings in the modem to enable port aggregation but the only thing that after the modem rebooted is kick me off the xfinity system.

I then had to chat with xfinity support to get them to reconnect me - but I couldn't get them to do that with the next gen speeds allowed.

I do not want to rent an xfinity system. I have too many IoT devices and need to be able to manage my own network.

Does anyone know how to set this up so that I can achieve the speeds that should be possible here?

Thank you

update that I think I configured this properly now. my problem was that I didn't connect from port 1+2 on modem to 3+4 on router and then I had to do the setup in router + modem before connecting the second cable.... so the sequence was:

[1] connect router to modem via the yellow jacks on both

[2] on modem activate aggregation (and wait for it to reboot) (advanced --> ethernet port agregation --> enable)

[3] on router basic --> internet --> ipv4 tab - WAN preference - multi -gig (1+1).

[4] connect an ethernet cable from port 3 on router to port 1 on modem.

[5] transfer the ethernet cable from the yellow jack on modem to port 2

if you did correctly a blue "WAN aggregation is active will appear. "

this page helped me https://pc.net/helpcenter/multigig_internet_ethernet_port_aggregation

Hey @user_1817a1, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding the Xfinity Next Generation enhanced Internet speeds. We would be more than happy to provide some assistance and head you in the right direction.

With using your own personal networking equipment, our support is limited. I would highly recommend reaching out to Netgear (The OEM) of the devices you have purchase. They will be able to educate on how to properly set up your network as they should be the professionals on their devices.

I am glad to hear you may have been able to figure out the issue and hope you are receiving the full speeds within your Xfinity Internet plan. If you need further assistance, please let us know, but as mentioned above, we have limited to no support for third-party devices and would need to direct to the Original Equipment Manufacturer for settings and support. Hopefully someone in the community may be able to assist.
