i have read several people get credit back for technician recovery fee

is this possible for a new customer sign up

Great question @user_jxwui3, and welcome to the Xfinity family! Credits are always reviewed on an individual basis due to circumstances around the charge. When new customers sign up, the customer agreement states that if a technician visit is required within 30 days of service activation that a $100 technician visit fee would be charged. In those scenarios the $100 technician recovery fee would be valid. For future reference you can actually use the handy dandy Xfinity assistant on the Xfinity website or Xfinity app to put in a request for a credit. The Request a credit from the Xfinity Assistant article will provide you with instructions on how to do such.
