New line ran on pole but no tap for service. Still on old line from neighboring town.

We signed up a couple years ago for service. When the tech came to hook us up he noticed that the new line that was run for our town was not tapped yet. He managed to hook us up to the older line that serviced the town next to us. Is there any way that we can get on that new line? We seem to be getting lagging on our TV service and slower Internet speed than what we expected. Thanks in advance.

Hey @user_6944cb, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding the Xfinity Video services and the Xfinity Internet. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you.

If you are experiencing issues with the services, we would need to troubleshoot to see if we can help resolve your issues. Could you please visit our 'Tips for troubleshooting your Xfinity Internet connection' knowledge base for steps on how to check your signal levels? Once you follow the steps, please provide us with the signal level readings or screenshot of the signal levels so we can review.

Would you also be able to check the quality of all the coax cables and connections such as ensuring all connections are secured and tight? Please also ensure that the coax cable is in good quality such as no hard bends, kinks, bite marks or cuts that could interfere with the communication and signal levels.
