New Comcast Account, Want to Use My Old Comcast Email Address I Used on My Dad's Account
My question has to do with signing up for a TV and internet account.
My daughter currently lives with me, and is a secondary user on my account. We plan to keep her as a secondary user...no need to make any changes here.
She just bought a home, and needs to get TV and internet, with a wifi router, set up. The current home owner, the seller, has X1 and internet. I don't think my daughter can just use his existing equipment, and that the seller will have to surrender his equipment.
My daughter will then have to rent equipment from Comcast for TV and internet. I guess that would be a gateway and an X1 box for each TV. We'd have to find a Comcast store nearby her new location that hands out equipment.
Now, my daughter's secondary user email account is, let's say, firstname.lastname@example.org. Here's the question:
When she signs up for her own account for the new location, normally, it seems that Comcast automatically assigns the account holder's name as the primary user's email address, i.e., her email address would end up the same as the secondary user's name she has on my account. Yes? No?
If yes, Comcast would see that there's already a email@example.com, and what would they do? Or do they let her choose her own email address? In the past, when she was living in apartments, she did get her own Comcast account, but she always used her secondary user's email address, firstname.lastname@example.org, on my account. It all worked fine.
The reason she's concerned and doesn't want her getting her own Comcast account requiring her to get a new email address, is because she's had the email address forever, and doesn't want to have to change with all of her contacts and businesses.
I believe she can just continue to use her secondary user email on my account, but just wanted to ask you guys.
