New apartment is being recognized as business.

Hello, I have recently moved to a new rental apartment and wanted to transfer my existing service, however when I enter the address xFinity tells me it is a business address. It is not. I live here. I need this fixed and I also cannot find the cable outlet and may need a tech to come out and install one.

Hello, @user_yy1i17 Please be mindful that sending unsolicited Direct Messages to an Official Employee of the Xfinity Community Forum is a violation of Forum Guidelines: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/guidelines/xfinity-forum-guidelines/602da8fdc5375f08cd20b38c in the future we ask that you please find the most appropriate public board for your question type and post it there. If needed, we may invite you to send us a Direct Message.

I checked the address you had sent and see that there is either an office or unit 2 listed, not an upper unit. It may be recognizing the "office" location when selecting as these are typically listed as business locations. Do you see the option to select the unit 2 when searching for the location, if so does that offer residential services?

I apologize for sending the direct message. I had seen other forum posts with my problem and thought I was taking the correct course of action.

Unit 2 is a different door across the hall from me.

I can provide lease documents if needed that confirm the unit. I am able to select the upper unit in the drop down when I partially type in the address on the transfer service screen.

@user_yy1i17 with being new to Xfinity Forums, I completely understand not being familiar with the messaging process. I checked the address tool on our website and not seeing the upper unit either when checking here: https://www.xfinity.com/planbuilder

From experience, I've seen the serviceability want a copy of a utility statement not a lease. Did you happen to have a utility bill in your name at the location?

I just checked again and yes I am able to select it from that link. Upper is misspelled.

We have not lived here long enough to pay any utilities. We just moved in.

@user_yy1i17 thanks for the update that there was a portion misspelled, when I tried searching with the correct spelling nothing had pulled up. Investigating further, I don't see this address loaded in. So it must be trying to revert to one of the other locations that is loaded and showing the business info.

I can open a serviceability ticket for the upper unit, and see if the team will accept a lease. Since we don't some information I'll need to open the request in public, I'll touch base with you in the direct message to continue.
