Network damage

Internet went down an hour ago and the status is “under investigation and the cause is “Network Damage”.  What exactly does Network Damage mean?

Hi there,

The "network damage" indication in the outage status tool generally indicates physical damage to some of the network infrastructure that is outside our control. It could be someone dug into the line unexpectedly, damaged an exterior box that helps provide service to the area, or severe weather caused it to fail. However, you can stay up to date by frequently checking our ststus center!

12+ hours of no service due to " network damage"... Is there an estimated time for repair?

First. Check here for official info on any general local outages;

https://www.xfinity.com/support/status

Use a cell phone internet service, a public WiFi hotspot, or a neighbor's internet if you need to in order to check it.

Or you can use the Xfinity App: https://www.xfinity.com/apps
