Need to Remove free Peacock Premium plan from Xfinity - Please Help

I used to have a Peacock Premium Plus account that I enrolled in directly with peacocktv.com.  It was the no-ad plan, and it was great.

Unfortunately, I signed up for the free Peacock Premium account offer from Xfinity.  Afterward, I found out it is not possible to add the “Plus” portion to the free Xfinity Premium plan.

I want to downgrade/cancel the free Peacock Premium account that is linked to Xfinity.  Like other customers, I have not found a way to do this.  I go back and forth between Peacock & Xfinity trying all the instructions they give, and nothing works.

What can I do to remove my Peacock account from Xfinity?  I want it to be canceled so that I can go back to my original paid account directly with Peacock.

I should have kept the paid account I had directly with Peacock.  Please Help! Thank you in advance

I'm glad I'm not the only one here with the exact same problem. I really liked the old set up where I just paid extra to get the ad free.  But as usual [Edited: "Language"] just can't help but mess things up. I have spent countless hours on this between trying to figure out how to upgrade, just to learn I can't, and now how to get Peacock removed, again, only to find out I can't. And way too many of the customer service reps just plain stink at their jobs. I'm sticking with [Edited: "Language"] until Google Fiber is up and running in my area and then I'm done with them forever. Oh, and try Googling sites dedicated to [Edited: "Language"] hated. There are so many you can barely count them all. By far the WORST company I have ever dealt with.

@user_832b1b  You can set up Peacock without ads by using a different email if you were interested in still doing that.

Adding to the “I'm having the same issue with trying to upgrade Peacock to Premium Plus” band wagon. I too received the free Peacock Premium because of the internet plan I have. That means I don’t have an X1 or flex box. The article that I keep getting does not address this scenario. I have no way to manage my Peacock account because Xfinity is holding it hostage. This has truly sullied my opinion of Comcast/Xfinity.

@user_p7lh7y At this time there is no way to upgrade. If you want to upgrade it at this time you'd need to cancel your current subscription first and then sign up for the plan you want.

Like others, I also thought it would be nice to save a few dollars a month on my Peacock subscription by activating the xfinity offer to gig-speed internet customers, but I am super disappointed and frustrated to find out that I can't upgrade to peacock premium plus, like I had before, nor cancel the subscription through xfinity. I wish I had thought to check the internet to see what other customers' experiences were. Also, the article that several official employees have suggested to manage the subscription no longer exists - it is a broken link (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/peacock-manage-subscription). I will take the steps to send a message, but I don't expect much, based on others' experiences.

Found this thread while on hold with XFinity... what a joke! First agent transferred me to an independent company "peacock designs" for support and they of course have nothing to do with Comcast/XFinity/Peacock! Second agent on call back went round and round wanting me to use the app... what app? I have gigabit internet and not the box with the comcast app! They then transferred me to retention. UGH! Based on reading all of the above I'll just cancel the dang thing and set up a new account. WHAT A MESS! Fix this for your customers!

I am SO MAD. This is SO WRONG. How can Xfinity hold our accounts hostage and neither Xfinity nor Peacock has a way to cancel this? At this point, the only way I see to make them take our complaints seriously is to go to the media and put them on blast. I want my account BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Same exact issue here: free for 2 years Peacock Premium via Xfinity CANNOT be removed. Several suggestions about creating a new account to upgrade to ad-free would seem to me to result in doubling your pain with two concurrent accounts locked. I want to cancel before the 2 year free Premium Peacock runs out, because if I start getting charged for a service by Xfinity I no longer want and cannot cancel, and Neither company's customer support can do it - this is going to escalate much further with both companies.

So this has been going on for months and there has been no resolution what so ever.  Typical xfinity behavior.  I wish I had known about this issue before I clicked the link for the "free" premium peacock.  Now it appears that I am screwed as well.  I just want to revert back to the way it was a half hour ago.  Ugh...  This sucks!

You have to go to settings on your tv and choose apps and subscriptions, then you can cancel. The process to find this out was sooooooo frustrating!

Can't cancel it there either. I signed up through the Xfinity link in a web browser. My account is being held hostage for 2 years unless they decide to make a way for us to cancel. All these complaints and NOTHING has been done. UNACCEPTABLE. The only way out is to cancel or downgrade your Xfinity service.

Hello @user_5svl16, thanks for reaching out for help with your Peacock subscription. If your Peacock subscription is billed by Xfinity, you can check the details of your subscription by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings on your Xfinity X1 TV Box or Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box. Please let us know if you run into any issues following these steps and what step is not working.
  2. Go to the Apps & Subscription menu.
  3. Choose Peacock to the left.
  4. Select Change plan or Unsubscribe.

Please let us know if you run into any issues following these steps and what step is not working.

You can't do that. It tells you to go to Xfinity's website. And you can't do it from there either.

I'm having this issue as well. I agreed to the "Peacock Premium" plan through Xfinity without realizing that it was an ad-supported plan. I refuse to watch ads, and I'd like to pay extra to get the ad-free tier, but I can't because of this terrible design. There needs to be a way to uncouple your Peacock account from Xfinity or allow the user to pay extra to upgrade their account to the ad-free tier through Peacock. Signing up for Peacock Premium through Xfinity made me not able to use the service, which is appalling design. Apparently it's been over six months since Xfinity is aware of this but it hasn't been fixed.

And I don't have an Xfinity box since I have internet only, so the solution to manage my Peacock account through the cable box is useless.

This is beyond frustrating since I just want to pay to watch content without ads, which non-Xfinity users can do! Feels really bad to be penalized for using Xfinity.

For everyone who is unable to cancel their subscription since the answer online only works if you signed up using a Flex or cable box, here is the best answer I got from Peacock. There is literally no way to change a subscription that has been redeemed through Xfinity if you do not have one of those boxes. Xfinity told me they cannot unlink my Xfinity account and the Peacock one. This is an absolute joke. Do not waste your time trying to get this resolved by Xfinity or Peacock because they cannot and will not help. Here is the message Peacock sent me and told me to just make a new account.

“Hello,

Thank you for contacting Peacock.

We do apologize for any inconvenience. If you have redeemed any offer on the account through Xfinity you will not be able to cancel the subscription. we would suggest you to create a separate account and purchase the Premium Plus subscription on that.

Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Peacock Customer Care”

user_j1j9rf Thanks for your update, and sharing the information provided to you directly from Peacock. Unfortunately, we don't have an upgrade path from the Xfinity provided Peacock Premium to Peacock Premium Plus.
