Need to move outside Xfinity box on the house

Hi,

We are having our cable reburied in the yard after it was accidentally cut by a crew that installed our patio. Currently the line runs all the way around the back of the house. We are concerned that Xfinity will dig too close to the new patio and possibly damage the foundation of it. We’d like to get the Xfinity box on the house, where it’s grounded, moved from the south side to the north side of the house. This way there’s no risk to patio and there’s a lot less digging required by Xfinity.

How can we inform a technician that this is what we want? My last call to Xfinity got dropped suddenly before the conversation was finished.

Thanks.

(Note that I may not be using all the correct terms here.) Turns out that you have to ground the cable connection to the house ground. We thought it was possible to have a separate ground, but it is not, or can cause problems if you don't. So we thought our only choice was to have Xfinity to go from the south side all the way around the back of the house. And dig through all our new landscaping to connect to where the cable line goes into the house on the north side.

There's another option, though. We talked to a crew that was working on our neighbor's house and they said they can run our cable line around the *front* of the house and tunnel under the driveway. This means we don't have to worry about disturbing the foundation of our new patio. May even be an easier and shorter run for Xfinity.

So now we just wait until a crew comes out to bury the line. Seems that Xfinity is quite busy at this time!

@user_7c5850 I am happy to hear there was another option available to meet your needs. Have you already scheduled an appointment to have this work completed?

I no longer work for Comcast.
