Need Help Provisioning ONT for Customer-Owned Router (Ubiquiti Dream Machine)
Hello
I just got my home internet installed. There is an ONU (direct fiber to my house and then ethernet into my utility closet). The tech was explaining to me how the current flow requires me to have the XER10 but I found posts here and articles explaining that I should be able to get that XER10 disabled and just plug the ethernet from the ONU output directly into my Ubiquiti Dream Machine's WAN port and avoid a double-NAT situation.
Is this really possible?
I spoke to 2 support agents who were awesome but they didn't quite know but seemed to say it was possible. I've seen a few support forum posts here which strongly affirm I should be good to go and might just need to have my ONU re-provisioned without the XER10? Or maybe something similarish to this?

Per this article, https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/memberowned-router-options-for-xfinity-fiber-service-epon/6a6cb9c0b3ed1847a0acc1cf, it appears I need to make a request to get MACSec restrictions removed from my account and therefore remove the requirement for the XER10 and allow me to connect my own router directly into the ONU.
