Move modem to the living room

Hi,

I would like to move my modem from bedroom to living room. I think a long time ago a technician told me the living room coax cable wasn't activated but I would like it checked again to confirm.

Good morning @user_esylmb, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity forums, I hope that this message finds you well. You have come to the right place for assistance with this issue. The only way to tell if a coax outlet in the home is active without having a tech out is to try hooking the modem up to the outlet and see if the light on the modem goes white after a few minutes. If the modem does not go to a solid white, then the outlet is not active, and we can then look into scheduling a tech to come out and activate it.
