Modem upgrade to XB8

Hello @SeahawkShawn and thank you for your post. When it comes to the amount of devices your running the main thing that is the concern is the internet speed. That way when you have for example our Extreme Pro/Gigabit Internet Speed Tier you can run over 12+ devices online at a time. Both the XB7 and XB8 work perfectly for handling many devices. The main difference between the XB7 and XB8 routers is the Wi-Fi standard they support. Being 100% honest with you not many devices even support 6E, but that being said we can still take a look and see if your account qualifies for the XB8 and please note that we can not guarantee an XB8 would be issued even after placing a request for one. "Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send it
