Modem installation

How do I know if I have the right cable to connect my modem to? The app also doesn’t work for me so how am I supposed to finish the process once I figure the wiring part out? Is there someone I can call?

Hi there! Your modem connects to a coax cable, which is the round cable with a small metal pin in the center and a threaded end that screws onto the wall outlet and the Cable In/RF In port on the modem. Make sure both ends are finger-tight.

You cannot always tell by looking whether a coax outlet is active. After connecting the modem and plugging it into power, allow about 5–10 minutes for it to connect. If it does not come online, try another coax outlet if one is available.

If the Xfinity app is not working, connect a computer directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable and visit xfinity.com/activate. If you still cannot complete the activation, Let us know and we will be happy to assist you furhter.
