Major Modem Problems With New FTTH EPON Symmetrical 2gbit internet plan.

Hi Board,

I am writing to seek assistance with my recent internet upgrade with XFINITY. We within the last 5 days had a home installation of 1 gigabit symmetrical fiber internet. We received upon installation an XB7 Gateway. We LOVED our internet, and realized we could upgrade to 2 gigabit fiber to our home. We did, and we realized our modem was not capable of supporting the speeds. We went to the nearest XFINITY store and they gave us an XB8 Gateway. I was told at that time that they did not have XB10 Gateways in stock. It does provide sufficient speeds via WiFi 6E. Yet it is limited to one gigabit via ethernet. We need our full speed via ethernet to support a future installation of a NAS. I went back today to the same store and the same representative, and explained my situation and another representative was able to help. i ended up receiving an XB10 Modem, and upon further research i am learning it is incapable of activating due to lacking a WAN port, and is having EPON fiber. I learned i ultimately need and XER-10 Modem, and i am beginning to lose hope in the lack of knowledge in xfinity store representatives that i can actually get my hands on one. Has anyone else had experience getting a proper modem/router from XFINITY that will support your full 2gbit/s symmetrical or higher EPON Fiber connection, and can you please provide information on how to actually make it happen?  Thank you.
