Landline stll not working

Moved and transferred my Xfinity service to new residence.  Talked to Xfinity representative in office, who said all I needed to do is to plug the phone jack into the new modem.  Internet service is working, but the landline is not working.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to Xfinity Support @user_z9lnrq!  We are so glad to hear from you and want to assist in any way that we can with your service concerns.  Congratulations on your move!  We apologize for any inconvenience that this is causing at this time.  No worries!  You have reached out to the best team to assist in getting things ironed out for you.  Can you confirm if you are receiving any dial tone?  Have you plugged the device into the correct phone jack in the back of your gateway?

No dial tone.  I have tried both the phone output in the modem and the wall phone output beside the cable input.  Neither has worked so far.  I have also checked the phone and all the cords and connections repeatedly.  The phone lights up, but again -- no dial tone.  I contacted the local Xfinity office, and they said it might be working by Saturday (three days from now), but if not, to contact them again.  It would be helpful to get it working as soon as possible.

We'd be happy to troubleshoot further to see if we can get your landline back up and running sooner. To get started, can you please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name along with the service address on the account?
