It's scam, a very nasty scam that's been reported here in the Forums a lot recently. See any of the many posts at https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/search?page=1&sortKey=RECENT&q=scam. Customers have lost a lot of money.

A competent company would have posted prominent warnings about a widespread scam that has cheated many and appears to use leaked customer data, but Comcast hasn't bothered to do that. They really should.

I answered the call one time.  The caller knew a lot of details about my bill, billing address and other info.  Another security breach?  They also wanted 3 months payment.

We truly do appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention! It is greatly appreciated!

If you've gotten a call claiming to be from us here at Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill?  If so, the FTC is aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
You can also report it to our Customer Security Assurance team by visiting the following link https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/alerts
We encourage you to make these reports in an effort to stop false information spreading, and to protect our Comcast familys' accounts such as yourself!

@XfinityChelseaA We know it's a scam.  What  I would like to know is how the scammers knew details about my account.

Thank you for letting us know. @Petek01!

I am able to view the link sent by @XfinityTimothyA, so clearing cache and cookies, or using incognito/private mode in your browser would allow you to access the site if there is an issue with the cookies, or a browser add-on, that are causing that error. The other links provided by @XfinityChelseaA are to report to the scam to the FTC and our Customer Security Assurance team, and I would definitely encourage reporting on those as well. We want to ensure that these scam calls are reported; we hate scammers and scam calls too.
