Ever since planned work in our area three weeks ago we have had consistent disconnecting Wi-Fi Internet, and I can’t seem to get anyone to help us

Hi there! We’re really sorry you’ve been dealing with this, especially since it started right after work in your area. That timing definitely matters, and we’ll help you get to the bottom of it.

Let’s try a few quick things first to narrow it down. Start by restarting your modem by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Once it’s fully back online, keep an eye on the connection and see if the drops still happen.

Next, check the coax cable going into the modem and make sure it’s tight and not damaged. If there are any splitters on the line, try removing them temporarily if possible, since they can weaken the signal.

If you can, try connecting a device directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable. If the connection still drops while wired, that points to a signal or line issue rather than WiFi.

Also take a look at the modem lights when the connection drops. If they change, blink, or go out, that’s helpful information and usually indicates a signal interruption.

If you’re using a separate router or mesh system, try bypassing it temporarily and connecting directly to the modem to rule that out as a factor.

If you go through these and the issue is still happening, let us know what you’re seeing and we’ll take the next step with you.
