Internet upgrade

How long will Xfinity keep interrupting my internet service to perform an upgrade?  This is the second week of interruption.  I just want to know, on average how many days/weeks/months this will be.

Hello @user_r8todx, and thank you for reaching out here on our Xfinity Community forums.

I can certainly understand how frustrating it would be to experience service interruptions for multiple weeks, especially when you're not sure how much longer the upgrade work may continue.

Unfortunately, there's no standard timeframe that applies to every upgrade project. The duration can vary based on the type of work being performed, the complexity of the network improvements, and the amount of infrastructure being upgraded in a particular area.  Local weather conditions at the time of a planned upgrade can also cause additional delays or extend the project if conditions become unsafe while work is being performed.

One of the best ways to check for active service interruptions and planned network work is through the Xfinity App, which can provide status updates and estimated restoration information when available. You can also check the Xfinity Status Center, which provides information about known service interruptions impacting your area.

If you'd like us to take a closer look at what's happening at your specific location, please send us a Direct Message* with your full name and complete service address. We'd be happy to review the account and see if we can provide any additional information regarding the upgrade work affecting your area.

We appreciate your patience while these improvements are being completed and would be glad to investigate further for you. 😊
