Internet Out Despite Having Power

Can a true time estimate of xfinity service restoration be provided for the Hartland/Howell, Michigan area?  A storm did blow through my area on 9/3/26 around 4pm with a power loss of 2 minutes, but my internet has been out since.  The app simply says the services will be restored "ASAP."  I use internet for my work and need these services back.  Having no explanation or true estimate is frustrating.

@user_w4pxit Thank you for reaching out today on the Xfinity Community Forums. Service interruptions can be monitored through the Xfinity app or by visiting https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/check-service-outage. The information would be the most up-to-date information. We appreciate your patience while we work to restore services as quickly as possible.

Respectfully, this does not answer my question.  Is the estimate a few days?  A few weeks?  I have to plan for my job.

@user_w4pxit We do not have any other information then what you are seeing as well. When the teams on the ground update for a ETA then we would see the same thing as you. I understand the need to plan. I sincerely apologize we would not have any other information available at this time.

I am in the same situation as the original poster in the same area (Hartland/Howell, Michigan). Is there truly no way to get a message to the team on the ground so they can update the restoration timeframe estimate? Having some sort of estimate is reasonable as opposed to it perpetually saying “as soon as possible”.

The concern is not "accessibility / disability" help related............ Topic moved here to the proper help section.

A actual restoration time would be helpful for people that need to plan work. Power was restored several hours ago (over 24) and we are getting a run around about an actual fix. Are agents even assigned to Howell area?

I live in Howell and we also lost internet Thursday after power was restored. The website does nothing, it just says they're aware of the outage and are working on it. No updates nothing. I have yet to see any xfinity trucks in Howell area working. I'm about to switch service with another provider. It's the holiday weekend perhaps xfinity employees are on vacation.

I totally agree with everyone’s response on how poorly xfinity is handling this problem. i live in howell and have been without service since early thursday morning. I’m retired and drive the howell area every day and have yet to see one service truck. I will be checking with AT&T for there rate package. If AT&T was smart they should advertise a better rate to attract from xfinity customers.

Good afternoon user_4v86fo I can understand your frustration if you are waiting for service to be restored. I would be happy to look into this further to see what additional information I can provide.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.

Comcast is taking a play right out of the DTE ENERGY play book! RAISE rates and LOWER service!!! I don't have another choice for electric service but I will be choosing another company for my internet and home phone services!! NO UPDATES for 4 days now is completely unacceptable!!! SURF INTERNET will be my new provider for internet and home phone service  for less than half of Comcast- $40/month to $82+/month and SURF is fiberoptic. They  definitely cannot be worse than Comcast- no one can!!!

I am in the Auburn Hills, MI area dealing with the same issue since 9/3/2026. For a brief time today service was restored just to have it go back down again with absolutely no explanation as to why or when it will be restored. Beautiful sunny day but no internet due to severe weather. The same exact thing happened on the 4th of July weekend as well as memorial day. Thanks so much for the transparency xfinity and showing us customers just how much you really appreciate us. An update would be nice.
