Internet is working but xfinity still says I have a service outage.

Yesterday my modem got fried by lightning damage. I got a new one today and I set it up. My wifi is working fine and it has internet connection. However, when I go on the xfinity app to run a test to see my speeds and what not. It says there is an error and it also says there is a service outage at my  address. How is my internet working if there is a service outage? Just wondering what could be the problem. Thanks.

Ahh got it.  Thanks so much for the clarification.  At this time we are still showing an active interruption on our end.  Once we show that this has been resolved, we should be able to work around this.  Would it be okay for us to follow up with you once we show that this has been resolved completely?

Sure thing, I just don't get how my internet would be working but it's showing as a service outage. Weird right?

No worries @user_7c35ea!  It is showing as an interruption due to the fact that it's a power issue.  This means that some areas around you are most likely without power and the grid is not up and running at 100%.  We will check back in once we are showing the all clear on our end and then proceed with getting things straightened out.  Sound good?
