Internet Essentials + Home Phone

I already have Cable with Xfinity
I just finished applying for Internet Essentials.

However, I also need Home Phone service. It's with my current ISP so I want to port that number over. I understand it's a separate service and different fees; that's fine.  The number we have is old and associated with many services over the years, and to be fair we probably don't remember them all. But one of them is Xfinity, for example!

I tried calling  the Internet Essentials phone numbers and a rep helped by leaving a note I do want Xfinity voice, but can't place this order without internet.  Main problem seems to be an entirely separate department handles the phone.

Ideally I want to deal with this in one go with a technician visit so I can close my other ISP service after porting the number over, I cannot use Xfinity internet service until this is all done.  So I'm just leaving here as a heads up first.

Although the most important thing is just keeping the number. If Voice proves too costly, we may be open to mobile if it means keeping the number.

Thanks for reaching out to us, You can add our other residential services with your Internet essentials plan. To clarify is your Internet essentials plan already up and activated?

@XfinityOrlandoM

It is not activated yet. I finished the application yesterday (not approved yet) so this is a heads-up

OK So what you'd want to do is wait till it's been approved and then activated then we can look up your account and go over pricing for what it would cost to add the Xfinity voice services to your account,

What I can do is follow up with you in a few days to see if it's been activated and then we can go from there

@XfinityOrlandoM Thanks! I'll tell you when it gets approved.

I did receive an automated call that there's a high volume and things might take a bit longer than usual.

With having an active Xfinity Video account/services, you should be able to enroll in the Xfinity Voice service without issue @user_hma. I can see what options are available. Please send a direct message by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, clicking on the pen and paper icon, and then entering “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Please include your full first/last name and complete service address (Including the city, state, and zip code), and I'll be happy to help.
