Internet dropping randomly when it rains
Our internet has been dropping randomly when it rains. It happens sometimes at other times but always when it rains. Since it started raining here yesterday, it has dropped several times in less than 24 hours. This has been an ongoing problem since a tree fell four blocks away several months ago. We never had a problem until then.
I have been through online automatic troubleshooting. I and Comcast have each restarted the modem and done the diagnostics. We have checked the connections in the house. The signal: noise ratio is 40. The internet signal drops and forces a reboot of the modem. We have reinitialized the modem.
A tech needs to come check the outside connection and lines, but I can't get a human on the phone. I can't get the Xfinity assistant to understand the nuance of the issue, and the automated troubleshooting shows no issue, so it won't forward me to a human being or to schedule an appointment.
The inability to get a human to help is inordinately frustrating and ridiculous given what we pay for internet-only service.

It sounds like the rain has got into the cable causing RF interference. The cable may need replacement.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
