Internet connection

A few months ago my Internet connection was interrupted. Xfinity technician can and after some testing told me that my modem of 6 years was bad. He said he could switch my modem out for a Xfinity one for $15.00 more a month. I choose to buy my another one. On the Xfinity website I found modems that work in my area. I purchased one and things were good for a few weeks. My service has been interrupted several times. Once after testing online the tech told me he boosted my signal strength. Last night my WiFi was again off line. The technician was able to get it back online. It seems that Xfinity points to the modem as the problem and the modem mfger points to Xfinity. I don't know if I should just change service. This is very frustrating.

Hello @user_9tgd1o, and thank you for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums.

I can understand how frustrating this has become, especially after replacing your modem based on the technician’s recommendation and still experiencing repeated interruptions. Being caught between your modem manufacturer and us without a clear answer certainly doesn’t make things any easier.

We’d be happy to take a closer look at the connection and review what may be contributing to these recurring issues. Since the modem has already been replaced and the problem continues, we’d want to look beyond simply assuming the modem is at fault and see what the connection history and signal levels can tell us.

Please send us a Direct Message with your full name and complete service address, and we’ll be glad to dig into this with you.
