Immediate Assistance with Damage done BY XFINITY
I am filing this complaint against Xfinity due to a year-long unresolved issue that has not only disrupted our service but has also created an unsafe environment for my family.
Approximately one year ago, during construction on a nearby main crossroad, a crew severed the fiber optic cable that services our entire neighborhood. That same night, Xfinity contractors were in our backyard until 3:00 AM, working under spotlights and using power tools just feet from our toddler’s bedroom window. While the immediate service was eventually restored, they left the fiber optic cable sticking out of the ground, running over our fence, and several electrical boxes in our yard were left damaged and exposed.
Since then, I have made repeated attempts to have this issue resolved, without success. I have spent countless hours on the phone being transferred from one agent to another, re-explaining the issue each time with no resolution. I have scheduled multiple appointments, both through 811 and Xfinity directly. In each case, either no one shows up, or I receive a false update that the technician couldn’t access the property. My husband has taken time off work to ensure someone was home and available, and I personally waited all day on Mother’s Day for a technician who never arrived.
This lack of accountability and customer service is unacceptable. The exposed wiring and damaged boxes in our backyard pose a serious safety hazard to our children and pets. I am frustrated, exhausted, and running out of options. I am now considering contacting an attorney or local media outlets to escalate this matter publicly, and if necessary, I will take matters into my own hands and remove the cable myself.
I am seeking immediate resolution from Xfinity to properly repair and secure the cable and electrical boxes in our yard and to receive a formal acknowledgment of this ongoing issue.
