If the web site offers me full duplex 2gb up / 2 gb down, does that mean FDX is available at my address?

I am asking that because that's what I clicked on as my 5 year price protection offer, and when the technician arrived he installed a XB8 and 2gb down / 300 up mid-split instead of a XB10 with symmetric FDX. Does that mean that FDX is not in fact available in my neighborhood (but hopefully soon will be), or did he install the wrong modem?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

That's a really good question @badtux99!  Thanks for posting it here on our Xfinity Community forums! We can definitely take a deeper dive into your location and determine what happened there for you. 😀

In order for us to take a look at this, please send us a direct message* with your full name and service address.  Once we have you verified on the account, we can dig into this and see what your location actually supports!

How to Send Us a Direct Message*:
(*Note: Never send a direct message to us unless requested by us.)

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or visit Xfinity Direct Messaging.
  3. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
