I need to cancel my service

I need to cancel my service. I just don't understand why I can't cancel through the website or the app. I don't mind calling, but it's not always the easiest process. I would appreciate a reasonable explanation as to why. Not trying to be rude, just want a full understanding of it.

Sometimes its best to keep things simple, I get it, if you have a authorized Xfinity Center in your location you can cancel there as well, just be sure to bring all the equipment you have when you do and they will print you out of a receipt of the transactions you did in their store.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.
