How to order XB8

How does one order the XB8 gateway? I have the XB7 and when I check online, Xfinity shows that I have the most current equipment. I have the 1.2 Gbps internet speed, along with TV and home phone. I have read how some ordered the XB8 and received the XB7, I do want to avoid this. I am also looking to self-install the gateway.

Hello, thanks for taking the time out of your day to get this concern addressed. Currently, the XB8 is still on back order in most areas, so our fulfillment team has been directed to substitute an XB7 in the event that an XB8 was unavailable. Both of these modems have the same functionality, and most of the same features, which means it will operate nearly the same as the XB8. We should have our stock replenished here in the near future so that you'll be able to take advantage of this great new device. We will update this thread when the equipment becomes available.

@XfinityAmir​ I am looking to replace my XB7 with an XB8 because I would like the additional Ethernet ports. Are these available or still on back order?
