I have an X1 plan and just purchased a 4K TV and would like to change from current XG2v2 standard HD to a 4K XG1v4 box. How do I go about the exchange?

@ComcastChe - I have this same issue and to say the least its been a nightmare trying to get my HD box swapped out for a 4k one. Been to two stores without success and eventually referred to go online. Agent lied to me the box had been shipped but really did nothing. Very frustrating experience overall.

I recently signed up for Comcast service and am very happy with the content and apps. I have a XG1v3 DVR box and the fan inside the box is noisy and loud, sounds like it is malfunctioning, and drowns out the volume of the television at reasonable levels. I would like to inquire on the feasibility of getting the newer XG1v4 box that supports 4k for my televion and also has no fan and a solid state hard drive with no moving parts. Please inform me on the best possible way to upgrade to this XG1v4 device via a standard shipping method.

I tried ordering a XG1v4 box to replace my XG1 about a month ago. I was told it was ordered but it never arrived. I called back later and a different rep told me the order was not approved. Can someone from Xfinity help clear this up. I have a 4K tv and would like to get 4K content.

I really appreciate you being a member of the Comcast Family! 4K cable boxes can be sent out to you via direct mail or you can pick one up at your local service center free of charge. To have one shipped out please send me a private message with your name and service address by clicking on the chat icon at the top right of the page. Then select the Xfinity Support tab to start the private chat session.

I just signed up for Xfinity yesterday and my installer mentioned that I would need to reach out to customer service to get 4K boxes.
He did not have any and was not aware I had 4K TV's.
