how to file a complaint

I began the process to switch to Xfinity on Aug 24th. I had an appointment the following Monday however, I did cancel it due to mislead information not from Xfinity. I then redid my request, and a technician came out on September 2d. He stated I needed underground wires ran and put in the request. The request had that I needed to be home when the 3rd party came to do the work. On September 9th the 3rd party came, without notifying me, and supposedly ran the cable. I believe they used the same cable that was there from service a few years back. On September 10th I received a text saying all work has been completed. I called Xfinity to explain I had not been notified, they kept the same cable that was there from another service years ago that ran through the flower bed, and hooked it up to their box. I asked to please have someone call me so we can get them back out to run it properly. I was assured a work order was in and I would be notified. I was not notified, so on Tuesday, September 15th I called to check on the status. I was told my account had been closed. Shocking! Not sure why it was closed.  In speaking with the agent that wasn't very pleasant, she informed me I would be billed $100 to have someone come out. I said, absolutely not. She would not help me, so I hung up. About 30 minutes later I called back and got what I thought was a very helpful lady. Sat on the phone for 35 minutes while she worked everything out and assured me a work order was in. Today. September 18th, I called to find out the status only to be told there is no work order, the account is closed, but he could transfer me to the acquisition team to begin the process again, if that is what I wanted. I said, "no, thank you. It is clear Xfinity does not want my business. I am not going to beg by repeatedly calling for someone to take my business". I am flabbergasted by the lack of customer service. The only reason I wanted Xfinity is it is about $50 less a month than my current provider but after all this hassle, I'll pay the extra $50 to Goggle Fiber. At least their customer service is responsive. However, I am quite frustrated!! And I am sure this complaint will fall on deafs door. Remember when companies would actually speak to customers to try finding out what occurred so they could fix it? Gosh, I miss those days.

user_x05kf3 Hi there! Thank you so much for using our Forums and for taking the time to contact us. We are happy to work together over this platform to review the account and see what the status is of the recent job. To get started can you send us a DM with your full name and service address?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.

Here's how you file a complaint with xfinity: Write down your complaint on a piece of paper and then light it on fire or throw it in the garbage because in my 56 years on this planet I've never encountered a more useless customer service department than xfinity's. At best, you will get a completely worthless idiot in the US who will listen to you and tell you they are "creating a ticket" and escalating your issue. But they know full well that this is meaningless. Tickets are closed almost immediately after they are opened and of the 15 to 20 issues I've had escalated, not one ever resulted in someone calling me back to resolve it or even provide an update. That's best case scenario. The more likely one is you will fight your way through their frustrating AI prompts which are designed to trick you into believing you are talking to a real person and, if you're lucky, eventually the AI bot will transfer you to almost equally unhelpful "representative" based in India or S.E. Asia. They will tell you what they plan to do. From my experience, they hang up the phone and do nothing. Xfinity is the only game in town for many when it comes to high speed internet. They know this. So there is no incentive to try and keep customers satisfied. I would pay triple for my internet if it meant never having to deal with these douchebags again.
