How can I get an Xi6 box?

Recently upgraded to a mesh whole house Wi-Fi with LAN back haul so I can put a node in the room where I need the Xi6 box without having to move my current cable outlet.  How can I get a Xi6 box.

Hi @user_a4af73 Thank you for reaching out on the Xfinity community forums. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out concerning the Xi6 box. The Xi6 box requires you to have the Xfinity Gateway. Do you have your own modem setup or the Xfinity gateway?

@XfinityJanelle​ You don't need the gateway if you have an active Ethernet connection that can be plugged into the box.  With the node that I have, it will have an active Ethernet connection to use.  I was informed earlier the options were to use Xi6 box you either used the gateway or Ethernet connection.  My other option would be to have an installer come in and install another coaxial outlet.  Now that I have access to an Ethernet connection, I should be able to use an Xi6 box.

@user_a4af73 I am not to sure where you received your information, however you must have a Xfinity Gateway in order to have the Xi6 box. Please take a look at X1 Wireless TV Box FAQs for more information regarding the wireless box eligibility.

@XfinityJanelle​ I was working with Xfinity a couple of months ago on this issue and was giving those were the options for the Xi6 box.  If I have a Ehternet/LAN connection, I can connect it to the Xi6 without the Xfinity Gateway.

@XfinityJanelle​ In the FAQ, it says you can use an Ethernet cable to set up a wired connection.

user_a4af73, I appreciate you pointing that out, I do see where it mentions that note regarding ethernet. That connection type is an option, however; an Xfinity gateway is still required unless the caveat of upgrading from Flex applies to your home. Otherwise we may not be able to ship out an Xi6 without a leased gateway on the account. If you'd like, I can take a look at your account to see if we can get this device added to your account. Would you like to have it shipped or pick it up from a local store?
