Houston Outage 77023

Hello - do you have an estimated date/time on when we’ll have internet service again? The internet went out on Monday and has not returned even when power returned Wednesday night. Your app/customer service line is not providing any specifics on this other than “asap” which is not helpful.

Zip Code: 77023

Thanks.

Hey user_bb8dio, thanks for reaching out to Xfinity Support on our forums. I'm glad to hear you made it through alright and we appreciate your patience as our techs are working hard to get everyone back online. Our website here, has some great information on the restoration process and the latest updates.

Thanks. Again, do you have an estimated

timeline of when repairs will be completed for 77023? Nothing on this link says that other than we’re working hard. Thanks.

user_bb8dio We have the same information you do that is being provided through the Xfinity app you mentioned in your intial post. That website also has updates and shares why your service may still be out even if the power has been restored to your home already.

Not helpful. We deserve better as a community and for our very expensive service we pay Xfinity monthly. Xfinity is fortunate Centerpoint has looked worse in all of this but soon the attention will turn to Xfinity once all power has been restored.

We all understand natural disasters happen but when you can’t provide your customers a timeline of when things are going to be repaired 6 days after the outage, you realize the focus has never been on the customer but on the mighty dollar.

I haven’t seen one Xfinity repair truck in our area (77023) by the way. Not one. Where are the repair people working?

I’m finding a new internet/tv provider as soon as this passes.

user_bb8dio I certainly understand where you are coming from especially when a lot of us work from home these days. Maybe it will help to go through a bit of the process to help understand. Our techs don't just sit around and wait for a specific area to be cleared of live downed lines from the power company. Once the utility company clears an area, they go out and do the repairs and is usually when you'll get an ETA update. This makes it more efficient with less ideal time and helps towards the ultimate goal of getting everyone back online as quickly as possible. At the peak of the storms there was approximately 975,000 interruptions across Texas covering a large area. The utility company and our techs are doing everything they can to help and we appreciate your patience. Have you checked to see here if there is an Xfinity Hotspot in your area you can connect to in the meantime?

Thanks. We have power since Wednesday night and extremely grateful for people who fixed this. This to me would lead me to believe the area may now be assessed by Xfinity to get an ETA. Nothing yet.

FYI. Hotspots are down in 77023. Have not worked at least by my house. Right now, I’ve been using my Verizon and ATT hotspots from cell and ipad.
