Hours spent on phone, no resolution.

My internet goes down often, even after a tech changed the cable line and the service started temporarily working again.  For example, it was disconnected for 1 hour today.  Prior to this, there was an xfinity outage in my area, and the internet speeds slowed to a crawl before the technician.  I told the technician, the problem was also disconnections, not just speed (at about 1 mb/sec though I have 2000 mb/sec through my account).

Furthermore, I can't seem to get Xfinity to comprehend I moved from two addresses and no longer want to pay for them.  I called many times, spent hours, and Xfinity doesn't know how to disconnect my old accounts even though I told them months ago.  Every time I talk to a rep they tell me it's still active.  I'm currently talking to one right now, hoping they fix it talking to the "backend".  Ultimately, they had to provide a payment to me for the time they charged me in my old address, when I told them prior, I was moving.  Yet every time I call, they have not disconnected it yet.

Hopefully this call will fix the account problem.  But even then, the disconnection problem remains.  And a tech being sent down to change the cable doesn't fix periodic disconnections, it only resolved the slow speeds, not the disconnections.

Update, in the call, the rep said it's disconnecting (the internet) because the old account is still active (the one I moved from).  He said the internet was now fixed because it's connected and he will transfer me to the disconnection team of my address.  I asked how deleting my old address will fix my disconnecting internet, they said, it will fix it because I should only have 1 account.  I explained that is a separate issue, I want only one account but I want someone to fix my disconnecting internet as well.  They stated I wasn't listening and transferred me not to the disconnecting (accounts) team, but to some random representative without any prompt or warning, or further clarification.

I've been on the phone for hours today, with no resolution.  This is unacceptable.  I am currently talking to a "Sheen".  Hopefully this will help.  This isnt promising either.  They're telling me the APT BR. account is still active and I have to return equipment once it's cancelled.  First off, it should already be closed, months ago, and second of all, I had my own modem and no t.v. so I owe no equipment.  It seems every time I talk to a representative, they never resolve my issues and create new, unforseen problems that shouldn't exist.  The customer service representative Sheen for example, which I am sitll on the line with, instead of repeatedly telling her I need my internet fixed and to please schedule a technician visit, and to close my APT BR account, she continues to redirect me to getting a new XFINITY pro service.

The concern is not "Community Center" help related............ Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello @user_bm5vhi, and thank you for posting your concerns and experience here on our Xfinity Community forums.  And thank you @EG for shining a spotlight on this for us!

@user_bm5vhi, it sounds like you've spent a tremendous amount of time trying to address both the recurring connection issues and the concerns with your previous accounts, only to have neither fully resolved. I can understand how frustrating it would be to continue experiencing service interruptions while also being told that old accounts remain active after you've already requested they be disconnected.

If you'd like our help, please send us a Direct Message* with your full name, the complete service address for your current account, and the complete service addresses for any prior accounts you're concerned about. We'd be happy to review everything together, including the ongoing connectivity issues and the status of the previous accounts, and work with you toward a resolution.

@XfinityCliff Thanks!  It seems that whatever they did no the backend finally fixed the connection issues.  I haven't had an issue with connectivity or speed in about a week.  In regards to the accounts however, I still have an option on the app to login to the BR address, which is supposed to have been closed.  ending in [Edited: Personal Info].  starting in [Edited: Personal Info].  Thankfully, it shows internet is de-activated, but I'm not sure why the account still exists.

Hello @user_bm5vhi, and thanks for your feedback here on our Xfinity Community forums regarding a resolution to your service issues.  That's great to hear!

In many cases, even if a previous account is closed or cancelled, you will still be able to view that account via the Xfinity App.  We keep that access available by default in case you need to review your billing history or obtain copies of your billing statements.

If you don't need or want to see it, you can unlink it by following the instructions included here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/switching-between-multiple-accounts

If you'd like us to take a look to confirm it has actually been cancelled please send us a Direct Message* with your full name, and the complete service address for the account in question, and we'll be happy to review this for you.
