Home phone service set up time

How long does it take to add a land line phone number to my Xfinity service? I already have internet service. Just upgraded to add home phone service and ported a number from ATT. I was told by a rep on chat it would be 10 minutes (didn't believe him). It's been 20 hrs.

I called in with this question. Fortunately, a very helpful, knowledgeable rep, Judy, answered. She told me that it will take 3 business days to port the number over. She also helped me with other questions.

Hello @user_d16c79! I'm happy you were able to call in and speak with an agent who was able to provide you with the answers you needed regarding the porting process, and other concerns you had. I'll check back in 3-4 days to make sure your port was completed before we close your post.
