home addition - need to add input jack

Hello, we are building a large addition to our home, and I will need to add an additional cable jack into that part of the home. We will need wired connections in that area. How do we do this? Is a technician able to install this? Thanks!

user_fa1ak3 Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reach out! Congratulations on extending your home. How exciting! Unfortunately, our techs do not perform wall phishing to install new outlets. You would have to hire a 3rd party contractor to do so. Once they have been installed, we can get a tech out to install the service.

Thank you so much for such a quick response! This is very helpful! So just to make sure I understand correctly: a 3rd party contractor will indeed be able to add a new outlet jack in the new part of the house off of the existing buried Xfinity line that comes into our house now. Once the contractor has completed this, I should set up an appointment with the Xfinity technician to set up the internet service to work properly from the new outlet jack. Is that correct? Thanks for confirming!

user_fa1ak3 If the extension is attached to your home, they sould be able to run wires from your existing connection through the walls to the new part of the home which will then go to the coaxial outlet. You have the right idea otherwise!! Let us know if you have additional questions. We are here to help! 🙂

user_fa1ak3 You are most welcome! I do want to ask though, how far is the extension from the existing connection/modem? If its close enough, you may be able to add our xFi pods as an alternative. A WiFi Boost Pod works with our Xfinity Gateway to extend your WiFi network, and help eliminate deadspots for more consistent coverage to keep you seamlessly connected throughout your home.
