Help!
At the end of June, I called Xfinity because the 12-month promotion on my internet service had expired. The agent I spoke with told me of a special they had in which I would receive an iPad and receive a great deal on my monthly bill. Friday June 27th, I received the iPad. On Monday, someone from “Xfinity” called to say I had not activated the unit yet. In addition, they said the wrong iPad had been sent and would I please box it back up and ship it back. I had no reason to believe that this was a scam as the person who called me identified themselves as an Xfinity agent, had all the information pertaining to my account, including the amount for the monthly bill and the type of iPad that I had received. Regrettably, by the time I figured out that this was a scam, it was too late. After spending nearly an hour trying to get someone on the phone. I finally spoke with someone in reference to the situation and they agreed that I’ve been scammed. The most insulting part however, is that the agent I was speaking with had the audacity to say that this was a FedEx issue. He claimed the FedEx people are the ones that had the information and that they were running the scam. I have a very difficult time believing that because the person that called on Monday had all my account information. I have no idea why FedEx would have any of that unless there’s a leak on your side but more believable, this is an inside job.
If I have to pay for the scammed iPad, then so be it, even though this iPad scam has been running since 2024 and clearly you have no clue about how to fix it. Additionally, I only want to pay for the high-speed Internet that I currently have and I expect to receive a great deal for the Internet service ONLY!!
