Help with adding a modem

Xfinity assistant is not helping. Spent a whole day trying to get help with adding a third-party modem that is compatible very disappointed in the customer support for Xfinity

Hey @user_j2o79r, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. You can usually activate and add modems using the Xfinity App. Steps can be viewed by visiting our 'Activate an Xfinity Gateway or third-party modem with the Xfinity app' support page. 

If you are experiencing issues with the Xfinity App, please send a direct message by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, clicking on the pen and paper icon, and then entering “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section.
