Help: Stuck at 35 Mbps after 500 Mbps upgrade – Modem swap denied at store.

I upgraded to 500 mbps after 10+ years on service, and the old cable modem won't do that amount.  I went to the store to get a swap, and they said the system wouldn't let them!  What do I do - my service is useless without a new modem.

@user_ta17rk All of our Xfinity Wireless Gateway models can support the 500 Mbps plan. Typically, the XB6 and XB7 are common modems for that tier whereas the XB8 is required for another above 1 Gigabit and the XB10 is currently reserved for our symmetrical speed customers. You would not need a DOCSIS 3.1 modem for 500 Mbps of speed as that is well within the range of DOCSIS 3.0.
