Equipment: Moving & Transferring Service

Hi -- I am moving and transferring service between states. I just started my xfinity account about a month ago so they equipment is all up to date and doesn't need to be upgraded. Am I able to just travel with that same equipment? Does it need to be returned to the state that I am in currently? I spoke with another representative (I have the transcript) and they said it would be fine to keep the old equipment. I just want to confirm that here and ensure that there won't be a lapse in service or any additional charges for not returning the equipment.

Hello, @user_14e8de. Thank you for reaching out, and we truly appreciate you keeping us during your move. I also want to quickly thank @MNtundraRET for getting this over to us. Generally, we do advise you to return and get new equipment when moving out of state. There are regions in which you can carry over equipment; however, these moves are typically within the same city or state. To be 100% sure, I will need to review the details of both locations. This way I can tell you if the equipment can be taken to the new home. With that said, I know you need service active once you arrive. It could be the "safer" play to get the new equipment just in case. That is completely up to you.
