email received

I emailed who I thought was Xfinity Support asking  "Can you please help me understand the email I received this morning at 2:41 AM"

Received a response telling me to go to : https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/submit)

Why would I post my question at https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/submit)?

I did not receive any emails from reddit?

Good afternoon @Buddy_SF0,
Thank you for reaching out to us here on Xfinity Forums regarding the email you received. I understand wanting to make sure the information in the email is correct. You’ve reached the right place for assistance, and I’ll be happy to look into this with you.

I apologize for the confusion. The information provided was for contacting us directly on Reddit before making a post, rather than the correct information regarding creating a post on Xfinity Forums before sending a Direct Message. We provide assistance on both platforms, and I apologize that the incorrect platform-specific guidance was shared.

This is what should have been sent about sending a Direct Message before a post.

Please be mindful that sending unsolicited Direct Messages to an Official Employee of the Xfinity Community Forum is a violation of Forum Guidelines. In the future we ask that you please find the most appropriate public board for your question type and post it there. If needed, we may invite you to send us a Direct Message

Since we will need to move the conversation into Direct Message I will follow up with you in the Direct Message.
