Email Access on my cell phone for my comcast.net email acct

Hi,

I access my email acct on my cell using the cell phone app that was pre-loaded on it...as of a week ago I keep getting "Theres an issue receiving email in this acct" messages and when I go to recover it says that it is temporarily blocked...I have been using this app for years and now it always does it when I leave the house...it will not allow me to reconnect until I get back home...today it started doing it at my house...I do not have a paid xfinity acct anymore as I moved from CT where I had an acct to SW VA and Xfinity is not available...

When I access email via the web at home I have no issues, only on my cell phone...any ideas as I cannot get a hold of a live person at xfinity to help..thanks  Steve

user_p8e0n4 Sounds like this is related to IMAP/SMTP settings.
  • Make sure your email app is using the correct IMAP/SMTP settings for Xfinity:
    • Incoming (IMAP): imap.comcast.net (Port 993, SSL)
    • Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.comcast.net (Port 587, TLS)
  • If you’re using an older app, it may not support modern security protocols. Consider updating the app or switching to a newer one like Outlook or Yahoo.

user_p8e0n4 Honestly we are not trained on 3rd party apps, but I did google your app and found the following steps:

How to Check IMAP/SMTP Settings in Edison Mail

  1. Open Edison Mail on the device.
  2. Tap the Menu (☰) or Profile icon (usually top-left).
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Select the Email Account you want to check.
  5. Scroll down to Advanced Settings or Server Settings.
    • Here you’ll see:
      • IMAP Server (Incoming)
      • SMTP Server (Outgoing)
      • Ports and security options (SSL/TLS)
