Does anyone actually know the root cause of the XRE-03046 error?

I have been getting random XRE-03046 errors on various wireless boxes now for MONTHS!  These errors prevent me from using the service I am paying for and thus in my opinion are a clear breach of the service contact.  I have yet to get a satisfactory answer as to why this keeps happening because no one seems to know anything anymore.  As an engineer myself, it looks like extremely poor design or implementation and no one at Comcast seems to care.  What do I need to do to finally resolve this?

We understand why you are frustrated, especially when this has been happening for months and is interrupting a service you are paying for. That is not the experience we want you to have.

The XRE-03046 error does not always point to one single root cause. It usually means the wireless TV box is having trouble completing the communication it needs with the X1 service, which can involve the box, the in-home network connection, the gateway, account provisioning, or the signal path feeding the home. Since you are seeing it randomly on multiple wireless boxes, we would want to look beyond just one device and review the full setup.

We can help take a closer look at this with you. We would want to check the affected box models, how they are connecting to the gateway, whether the gateway has had any recent signal issues, and whether the boxes are properly provisioned on the account. We do not want to keep repeating basic restarts if this has already been going on for months. Let’s review the full picture and work toward an actual fix.

Can you please send us a direct message with your full name and service address so we can take a closer look?
