Disappointment Over Loss of NFL Network & RedZone — Considering Leaving Xfinity

I’ve been a loyal customer of for years, largely because of access to NFL Network and RedZone. Losing those channels is extremely disappointing and makes me question the value of staying.

This is a big part of why I’ve continued paying for your service, and without it, I’m seriously considering exploring other providers that offer what I actually watch. Xfinity should be doing more to keep their customers happy, especially when it comes to key channels like these.

I’m undecided whether to wait and see if this gets resolved, but it may be time for me to move on.

I've been a Comcast customer for 30 years. As prices have steadily increased I've remained a customer because I could get all the channels I want with only one provider. Now you've dropped one of the channels that I value the most. If this isn't resolved before NFL training camp starts I will be moving on to a new provider for both internet and television. Please don't insult me with one of your canned responses. I want results, not lip service.

tlgjr8, hello there and thanks for joining in our community conversation. I absolutely understand your frustration, especially after 30 years with Comcast. And just to be clear, when we respond, it’s not to insult anyone with canned answers, it’s to share the most current information available and make sure customers know we’re here to help. This forum is here to help serve others with similar situations and assisting with providing solutions, I know how important NFL Network and RedZone are to many fans, and your feedback is being heard. We truly hope to keep your business and earn back your confidence before the season kicks off. As of right now, yes the agreement expired and just to share, that can happen with any company.

I want to share some key points here as I am a big NFL fan and I currently work and have all Comcast services in my home of 6 and has been working for this company for many years.
  • ESPN/Disney reportedly wants higher carriage fees and broader distribution for NFL Network.
  • Comcast says the demands would force more customers to pay for channels they may not watch and claims ESPN is asking for roughly double the prior fees.
  • Comcast also reportedly wants assurances that NFL Network will continue carrying exclusive live games long term now that ESPN controls the channel.
Yes, Comcast is currently working towards bringing back this programming can be a canned response, but I need this to happen myself as my life depends on NFL. We are all crossing fingers here. Let me know if there's anything you need or of assistance that I can be. 😀

Where have the items in your bullet points been reported? Could you share some links? I looked, but couldn't find much info.

Thank you for reaching out about NFL programming, user_pz6wiu. The agreement to carry NFL Network expired, so it’s no longer available with Xfinity. This includes NFL RedZone and any related Xfinity Stream and On Demand programming.

Please know Comcast pays programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and, so far, Disney/ESPN has not proposed a deal that Comcast believes is fair for its customers. Comcast continues to work toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for its customers.

I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be inconvenient. Thank you for understanding. For more information, you can visit xfinity.com/programmingchanges.

Fair? That's a joke right? You're literally a monopoly and should be broken up

@XfinityDilary thank you for your reply. I think that Xfinity makes more than enough money off of its users to be able to afford NFL network..  They should have started negotiations months before the contract expired. That is the correct and efficient way to do business. I honestly believe they really don’t care too much about what their customers think, as evidenced by losing the Xfinity app..  This is just another in a long list of inconveniences and things taking away from customers yet still charging more.

How much money is enough for these corporate clowns. They are a monopoly and need to be broken up 100%

This is a follow-up to my original post regarding Xfinity dropping NFL Network/RedZone and me considering leaving. I had an appointment with AT&T this past Saturday and was honestly surprised to learn I’d be paying almost $200 less if I switched. On top of that, they still carry NFL Network and RedZone.

I stayed with Xfinity over the years because I believed in loyalty, but it feels like that loyalty wasn’t returned as my bill kept increasing year after year. This whole situation may have been a blessing in disguise because it opened my eyes to how much I’ve been overpaying. I honestly assumed every provider charged about the same, and that was my mistake.

I’m still doing my research before making a final decision, but definitely food for thought for anyone who hasn’t compared providers in a while.

I do understand why this can be frustrating when it comes to losing channels you love @Miguel650, It is always good to evaluate your options and make sure you are getting the services that you need for your home. We are always happy to review your account and options with you. In regard to the NFL channels being lost

Looking at your response, it honestly feels more deflective than reassuring. As a long-time customer, I’m not really sensing that loyalty is valued here. Between losing NFL Network/RedZone and seeing my bill continue to rise over the years, I don’t feel like a valued customer at all.

I stayed with Xfinity because I believed loyalty mattered, but this experience is making me seriously reconsider that.

It is not our intention to make any of this seem deflective @Miguel650. We are working hard to get a resolution to get these channels back. I also have a Link with additional information on this. We can also look over your account to see what promotion options are available if you would like.

The 2026 NFL Schedule release is tonight and we get <Edited: Language> by not having the NFL Channel......Xfinity is charging outrageous fees and our bills keeping going up and up w/o any say on the matter.  They can say to call them and discuss lowering your bill but all the promotions are for new customers - not loyal customers who have been subscribers for decades!!!!

Has anyone noticed that Xfinity is cutting NFL-related content from ESPN channels as well?  Xfinity isn’t broadcasting the schedule release on ESPN2, even though ESPN2 is broadcasting it.  NFL Live on ESPN has been replaced on Xfinity. So now we’re being charged for two channels that we either don’t get or we either don’t get full content. This can’t be legal, has to be some type of breach of agreement on our contracting for these channels.

No, ESPN is doing this so Comcast can charge you more.  If Comcast solely was doing this, they wouldn't care and would have accepted ESPN's price.  Do you honestly think that Comcast wants to pay more?   They are a consumer just like you are.

It's not a Xfinity problem, having worked in a cable company, it's the network that's the problem, they're trying to put this in a higher tier of channels that will cost us more to get NFL network and Redzone. Xfinity is battling them to keep in the same channel lineup so it wont cost us more. Believe me, I miss my GMFB too. In the end I believe we will get it back.

AND Xfinity already raised my monthly rate this year.  AND they are now offering less channels.  No worries - I will find another solution.

No, you're part of a paid campaign by ESPN to try to leverage COX into caving in a negotiation for which they have all the leverage.  And you're not fooling anyone.

What does Cox Cable have to do with this?

What really angers me with Xfinity is there are no loyalty programs. There’s more options everyday. This will most likely send me streaming sooner than later. I think if you’ve been a customer for over 30 years you should get some kind of loyalty

Nope..  years of paying these idiots and being loyal means nothing to them.  In fact, the new customers are worth more.  So it's time to say good-bye.

I went to watch the NFL new schedule on NFL network only to learn that XFINITY has dropped this program, NFL Redzone. However, they are still charging all the customers $9.95 a month. When I asked the Xfinity person if you are going to send out an email and stop charging the customers, I was told that I could be reimbursed but no information was going out to the public.

I asked if thousands of Xfinity customers would be contacted and be reimbursed and I was told that was not going to happen because it is still IN DISPUTE.  In other words, XFINITY is collecting $9.95 from customers but not offering the service. They are taking (or stealing? or investing?) millions of dollars and not informing the customers.

As I read the comments below, they continue to state that they are keeping the money Until OR IF a new contract is reached.

It is ironic that I signed a contract worth millions (using ARPA funds) to bring Xfinity into areas in my County in WV next year and now I have to tell my constituents that the NEW Xfinity policy is to keep money, and not inform the public, when there is a problem.  WOW....so disappointed in Xfinity....  You need to be upfront and inform your customers.................
