Day 5 without Internet and possibly waiting 7 more

I signed up for Xfinity on a Sunday 8 days ago. Last Thursday my Internet stopped working. I called, I tried troubleshooting it over the phone with Xfinity and they eventually found out it was turned off because of the previous tenants (I'm just renting). They said that there was an outstanding balance or equipment wasn't returned with someone that lived at the address previously (they told me someone that lived there previously owed them 35 dollars). They said they couldn't do anything in the 4 hours of me talking on the phone and going in person the day the internet went out. I called again on Friday and on Saturday.. and now today, on Monday, multiple hours each time trying to get someone that could help me figure out how to get my internet going again. I was transferred to multiple departments, had multiple help tickets, and each person said they would be able to help me get it back on, but it's day 5 without internet. They said if I went in person with documents showing that I lived at my address they could turn it back on, but in person at the store, they said that that's not true, they can't take off the hold, and that I'd have to call. People on the phone kept telling me that I should have received an email so I could send documents and it's day five and still don't have an email. I talked to multiple people in customer service, the loyalty department, collections (even though the debt isn't mine), the sales department, and no one can seem to send me the email that I need to show proof that I live at my house. One employee said I need to tell my landlord and have him talk to them over the phone or in person! Everyone kept telling me something different and transferring me to someone else. On Friday someone said that they would work on my case personally and they would call me the next day and that my internet would be up by Saturday morning. Saturday morning came, I still hadn't received the email, my internet still wasn't up, and I got a different email saying that they got my request for cancellation?? I would love to get AT&t or another wired internet service, but unfortunately there's no other wired internet service or AT&t fiber available at my address. None of the Xfinity Representatives that said that they would work on my case and call me back the next day ever called me back. I spent 3 hours talking to Xfinity today trying to get an update of what's going on with my account how come I haven't received this email or if there's anything else that I can do to get my internet back on. I got bounced around from department to department and the last person I talked to said that one of the ticket numbers is still open and that in I should receive an email by the 31st.... It's the 24th. I haven't had internet for 5 days now and will possibly not have internet for another seven (at least 7 days!) depending on how long it takes for them to send me this email they keep saying was already sent, send back the documents they need, and then approve it? Multiple agents told me that I need to try to contact the previous tenants or have the landlord come in person to talk to them?!?! Every person I talk to says something different, tells me to do something different, or transfers me to someone else.
